Mandalynn Marcus is the Program Director for the Health Information Management (HIM) program at Central Oregon Community College, where she also serves as an Assistant Professor. With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, Mandalynn brings a deep understanding of health information operations across medical records, patient access, rehabilitation, and utilization management.
Her career has been shaped by hands-on involvement in major healthcare initiatives, including multiple electronic medical record implementations where she served as a super user, trainer, and workflow contributor. She has extensive experience in process improvement, policy development, and building new departmental workflows that support both compliance and operational efficiency.
Mandalynn is actively engaged in advancing the HIM profession at both the state and national levels. She currently serves in leadership roles within professional associations and is passionate about strengthening workforce pipelines, supporting student success, and fostering meaningful connections between education and industry.
In her role at COCC, she is dedicated to preparing the next generation of HIM professionals through innovative curriculum design, applied learning experiences, and strong partnerships with healthcare organizations. Her work emphasizes not only technical competency, but also leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
